1. Estimate the size of the target

2. Line up the object either horizontally or vertically in between the mil-lines

3. Count the number of mil-lines that the object occupies

4. Calulations

At 11x

Height of target (yards) x 1000/Height of target (mil) x 2.16 = Range(yards)

At 22x

Height of target (yards) x 1000/Height of target (mil) x 1.29 = Range(yards)

At 33x

33x Height of target (yards) x 1000/Height of target (mil) = Range(yards)

5. Charts

            – What power are you currently viewing the object at?

            – How many inches is the object?

            – How many mils does the object occupy?

Example

1. Wolf in reticle is about 3 feet wide (or 36 inches)

2. After lining up the wolf in between the reticle lines, the wolf is 7 mils wide

3. Going to the chart I know that i’m viewing the object at 11x, the object is 36 inches wide and is 7 mils wide, the wolf is roughly 66 yards away.
